The park is a haven for woodland, prairie, and wetland birds including woodpeckers, sparrows, grosbeaks, warblers, vireos, wrens, marsh, and wading birds.

Visitors can expect to see warblers, swallows, woodpeckers, Cedar Waxwings, Northern Flickers, American Woodcocks, owls, and Eastern wood pewees. Rare sightings include Rose-breasted grosbeaks, Savannah sparrows, and House wrens.
